What is Lurocoat® Ophthalmic Viscoelastic?

Lurocoat® Ophthalmic Viscoelastic is a single use, sterile, 3% (30mg/mL) solution of highly purified fermentation sourced sodium hyaluronate with a nominal viscosity of 50,000 cps. The sodium hyaluronate in Lurocoat® Ophthalmic Viscoelastic is an extract of a bacterial fermentation. Lurocoat® Ophthalmic Viscoelastic is indicated for use in ophthalmic surgical procedures of the anterior segment, including cataract extraction and intraocular lens implantation.

Why choose Lurocoat® Ophthalmic Viscoelastic?

Lurocoat® Ophthalmic Viscoelastic is a dispersive viscoelastic that can be stored at room temperature. It coats and protects the corneal endothelium and other ocular tissues and stays in the eye during phaco procedures. During removal by I/A (irrigation/aspiration), the viscoelastic comes out at a rate similar to other dispersive viscoelastics.

Lurocoat® Ophthalmic Viscoelastic has been CE marked and used successfully by surgeons in cataract extraction and lens implantation procedures since 1997, with several million units sold under private label to leading ophthalmic companies worldwide. We believe that your clinicians will find Lurocoat® Ophthalmic Viscoelastic’s optical clarity, absence of bubbles, 0.85ml fill volume, and room temperature storage advantageous in their surgical practice.
