Lifecore is pleased to be able to offer an expanded line of hyaluronan based biomaterials to the academic and corporate research communities through our distribution agreement, with Hyalose. We believe it nicely complements Lifecore’s offering of pharmaceutical grade hyaluronan which is available in discreet lots with molecular weights from 5,000 – 2.5 million Daltons with polydispersity of 1.1-1.5 (a value of 1 is for a ‘perfect’ polymer).
Using enzymatic digestion, as well as it’s patented chemoenzymatic technology Hyalose produces hyaluronan oligomers as well as hyaluronan polymers with the lowest polydispersity indices achieved hitherto for any commercial product.
Oligo-HA™ consists of distinct hyaluronic acid oligomers prepared from streptococcal or recombinant bacterial HA by testicular HAase digestion and subsequent purification. OligoHA4™ is a monodisperse tetramer (four monosaccharides: Nonreducing-GlcUA-GlcNAc-GlcUA-GlcNAc-reducing end). Following the nomenclature, OligoHA6™ is a monodisperse hexamer and OligoHA8™ is eight monosaccharide units in length.
Nano-HA™ is obtained by chemoenzymatic extension of Oligo-HA with UDP-precursors.
SelectHA™ is hyaluronic acid (HA) made through in vitro enzymatic synthesis where a very high level of size control is possible. Polydispersity of the reagent in any size from 25kDa to 1.5MDa is as low as 1.02 (a value of 1 is for a "perfect" polymer). Protein content is <0.1% and the endotoxin level is <0.1 EU/mg for all Low Endotoxin SelectHA™.
Biotinylated Select-HA™ is a biotin-labeled Select-HA™. Each HA molecule has been end-labeled at the reducing terminus with a single biotin molecule.
Hyalose Ladders are designed as molecular weight size markers for agarose or acrylamide gels.
• HiLadder™ contains five Select-HA™ molecular mass markers in the range of ~500kDa to ~1,500kDa. Recommended usage: agarose gel stained with StainsAll.
• Mega-HA Ladder™ is a mixture of Streptavidin complexes containing one, tow, three or four end-labeled biotin-SelectHA™ molecules of very defined sizes for use as size standards in gel electrophoresis or other separation methods. This ladder covers a range from 1.5MDa to 6MDa, Recommended usage: agarose gel stained with StainsAll.
• LoLadder™ contains five SelectHA™ molecular mass markers in the range of ~25kDa to ~500kDa. Recommended usage: agarose gel stained with StainsAll.
• NanoHA10™ Ladder is a preparation of different sizes of sodium hyaluronate oligosaccharides. The reducing end contains N-acetylglucosamine. This ladder contains oligomers of HA10, HA12, HA14, HA16, HA18, and HA20. Recommended usage: acrylamide gel stained with Alcian blue 8Gx or silver stain.
