What is Hyaluronan?

Hyaluronan (also known as sodium hyaluronate or hyaluronic acid) is a polysaccharide composed of repeating disacchride units of glucuronate and N-acetyl glucosamine linked by β 1-3 and β 1-4 glycosidic bonds and counter ions.

Lifecore manufactures hyaluronan using an extremely efficient microbial fermentation process and is highly purified before it’s turned into finished products in our state-of-the-art facilities.

Lifecore Hyaluronan Finished products

Lifecore Biomedical manufactures Hyaluronan into several finished products for various medical applications. These products and their applications include:

	*Lurocoat® Ophthalmic Viscoelastic for use in ophthalmic surgical procedures of the anterior segment including cataract extraction and intraocular lens implantation.
	*Ortholure™ Orthopedic Viscosupplement is indicated for pain and restricted mobility due to degenerative and traumatic changes in synovial joints such as the knee.
